Ever notice how our mind is great at creating a “snowball effect” – the tumble of rants and fears that cascade so easily.
We are always quick to get “The Snowball Effect” going IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. You know the drill; someone doesn’t call you back…
“What’s wrong with John? Did I do something to make him mad? I wonder if I made other people mad today and I just don’t know it. I wonder if he thinks I’m a loser. I AM a loser! I can’t do anything right. No-body likes me. Everybody has more friends than me. The whole world is out partying tonight and I’m all alone.” On and on it goes.
Why? Because as Abraham/Hicks points out, the universal Law of Attraction creates this interesting effect that one thought of one vibration (fear, disappointment, self-doubt, joy, affluence, health… whatever) attracts another thought of the same vibration after only 17 seconds.
In other words, think a fearful thought for 17 seconds and ANOTHER fearful thought arrives. Think THAT fearful thought for 17 seconds and ANOTHER fearful thought comes in. Do this for 68 seconds, and the universe begins to bring these thoughts into your reality.
(Don’t believe me? Start studying Quantum Physics or read the Abraham/ Hicks books on the Law of Attraction)
You start to run into people with that experience. You see it on a TV show. Your sister complains about it. You read about it in a book. It gets stronger and stronger because you begin to think about it more and more with each piece of evidence.
This, my friends, is the “What If Down” Game
This is when you start to scream, “OMG…somebody STOP me!” (Hands on sides of face here)
It can be downright terrifying what our thoughts can create. It’s a freak out scene, a train wreck coming down the track…Or so we think!
Take heart my friends. Our subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between reality and fiction so it goes to work like the faithfully obsessed Labrador bringing back whatever you throw out there as far as thoughts go. Thus the power of affirmations when supercharged with emotion.
Change your thoughts and you CAN change your life!
So you begin the “What If UP” Game, created by one of my favorite sources of inspiration – Joe Vitali.
“John didn’t call me back… He must have gotten side tracked. What if that contract he was talking about came through? What if it offered him the transfer to England? What if he had enough room in his new house for us to visit next summer? What if we went and got to do that tour I’ve always wanted to do?”
YOU GET THE IDEA. Fantasize, think positive outcomes, visualize what you want to have happen, and see new opportunities! It generates positive images that that retriever gleefully runs after and proudly brings back. Whenever you sustain your positivity for 68 seconds, the magic begins.
Anyone of any degree of great success knows this secret, and takes the utmost care of their thoughts, their words, their visualizations, and their focus of attention.
It is my hope to help YOU be more aware of where you put YOUR focus, and the “What If Up” Game can be a game changer!
