A Forgiveness and Gratitude Healing Practice

Ok…So we all know how important gratitude is.  We hear about it all the time now that quantum physics and the Law of Attraction is becoming such common knowledge.

Ever notice how in recent years the attitude of gratitude is in magazines, on tv shows, even whole books are written about it…but I don’t remember that being such a hot topic when I was younger. It sure has become a super star in this era of consciousness raising about the whole “Thoughts Become Things” thing.

That being said, sometimes life, or our thinking,  hands us some pretty heavy stuff.

As my daughter so eloquently calls it… a “Sh* t – Storm” or in MY language… a “Cluster-f*ck”.

Sorry, it’s just who I am. I won’t be offended if you leave the tribe. My “down – to- earth” style isn’t for everybody.  But ya gotta admit it- they DO describe things pretty nicely!

(But I digress as I defend my potty-mouth.)

When you’re in the storms of life, it can be pretty difficult to be in the attitude of gratitude, or to even access good thoughts.

So here’s my answer to that. A practice of Forgiveness and Gratitude.

A. Start with this prayer from my favorite book of all time  “Think Yourself Rich- Use the Power of Your Subconscious Mind to Find True Wealth” – by Joseph Murphy. “Wealth” here is health, love, money, happiness, and success and the book is full of powerful prayers/affirmations and stories about the miracles they have achieved.

photoI HIGHLY recommend getting yourself a copy and get over/ replace the “God” word if it’s offensive, ‘cuz there is magical power in its pages. (I’m a book-a-holic and if my house were burning THIS is the ONE  book I would grab.  Notice how dog-eared it is and how many little tags are in it! – this is my 3 AM Demon-Destroyer,  people!  – Buy it!):

Here is the prayer / affirmation: Watch how you feel inside as you slowly read it and download the energy of the words.  Pause after each phrase to let the meaning really sink in.   Mmhhmmmm…it’s a magical elixir of release.

“I forgive myself for harboring negative, destructive thoughts about myself and others…  I fully and freely forgive everyone… and I sincerely wish for them health, happiness, and all the blessings of life…  Whenever a person or experience comes into my mind that I don’t like… I will immediately affirm “I have released you / this…  God be with you / in this situation”…  I know when I have forgiven others or life… because I feel no sting in my mind…  The Infinite Healing Presence of God flows through me… and His river of peace flows through me…  I know that Divine love saturates my entire being… and God’s love dissolves everything unlike itself…  The Healing Light of God is focused at that point in my mind where the problem is… and it is shattered… making way for the Holy Spirit to indwell every thought and every cell…  I give thanks for the healing that is taking place now.”

B. Then flow into affirmations of gratitude:

At the end of every day, I count my blessings and give thanks for all that I have.

Being grateful for what I have brings more abundance into my life.

Today I say “Thank You” for what I want to see more of in my life.

Today I thank the Universe for showing me the way to my dreams.

Today I thank the Universe for the qualities and talents that make me so unique.

Today I give thanks for all that I am and for all that I have.

Every step forward in my life deepens my gratitude for all things.

Feeling gratitude puts me in a state of calm and openness.

Good things come to me because I am grateful.

Enjoy and be blessed, for all good things will flow with this practice! And if you need my support to really push things through for you, get my FR*EE Anxiety Breakthrough Jumpstart Kit at www.BambiThompson.com.

  1. I hear a lot about gratitude, but not about forgiveness. How often do we even think about forgiving ourselves for harboring negative thoughts? What a concept! I will have to try this out.

    • Yes, there’s real healing power in forgiving oneself. It means you own it, and you can change it. If you always are playing the blame game, then you are a victim and can’t move out of the situation.
